Rating by category:
The Mosser Hotel is well located for access to the shops of San Francisco. The rooms are basic but have everything you need (including wi-fi access).
I liked most of my stay (3 nights) and I thought the share bath/shower was ok, the room was great, very clean and sufficient for me...
the bad part was at the very end... I thought it was weird that when I gave the guy my credit card, he had to get an imprint onto the receipt (which I hadn't seen in years) and then I was in a hurry signed the paper, took my copy and left... he had the credit card on the imprinting machine and forgot to return to me... so now it is Thursday, I called them on Tuesday, I was told they didn't have my information (which I am sure they did have throught Booked.net), I left my phone someone was supossed to call me back and I never heard from them, I called them on Wed and I gave the guy my address so I am assuming the cc will be getting to my address by Friday... If not I will be really upset...So if you stay there, make sure you get your credit card back before you leave the hotel...
I was booked for a single room with a shared bathroom but was offered a special rate to upgrade to an internal bathroom for $20 a night. A fair deal. The room was clean and very comfortable with modern amenities. The bed was large and very comfortable too, with many pillows which is always a plus. Coffee, tea and biscuits are served complementary in the lobby in the morning which was a nice touch.
The hotel is located on a very busy side street in San Francisco and all through the night one can hear fire sirens, police sirens and ambulance sirens constantly going by. The windows are not double glazed and all the street noise can be heard loud and clear throughout the night, even from the 7th floor where my room was situated. The hotel is not for light sleepers.
Cleanliness was amazing. Kind and helpfull people. Coffee & Muffins in the morning was actually a good surprise. Will come back. Location is just amazing with such prices.
The staff were helpful, courteous, and prompt from the check-in process throughout my stay. The location is great for being right in the heart of the city, close to lots of shopping, and access to transportation options (trolley, bus, bart).
My room was hard to cool down, the city was having unusually warm weather, and my room was warm and stuffy, in spite of keeping the ceiling fan running constantly.
Free wifi internet access and coffee and muffins in the morning were excellent. Location was fantastic. Good basic hotel and good price compared with others in the area. Felt safe as a solo female traveller.
Alot of noise from the street but I asked for a room in the centre of the hotel, as recommended, and this minimised the noise. Also, beware the taxes and charges that are added above the cost quoted on the website - the cost is much more than it appears online.
Got bed bug bites and arm, hand and face
We arrived in sfo without any room reservations for a last minute get- away overnighter. Googled sf hotels Union Square. Price range around $100. bingo! The online pics looked good. Location was excellent for us - near at & t ballpark and Union Square area shopping . bart station nearby - no rental car needed. We loved the accommodations and have already recommended this hotel to 3 different friends who frequent the sf Bay area. Would stay there again in a heartbeat if we could get the same great price.
Location for conference.
Shower/toilet down the hall was inconvenient though not uncommon when compared with European hostels. The price was not commensurate with this inconvenience however.
Good price, excellen staff.
The room was small but, we got what we paid for. No complaint
Small and tidy room, thoughtful service, perfect facilities.
Shared bathroom and toilet, sound insulation ...
The location is excellent, very near the Convention Center and the most of well known stores.
Great location, just in the heart of Union Square, close to every type of transportation in the city. The staff is very kind. So far for the price/location is my favorite hotel in sfo.
The rooms are a bit small, but you can go to the Marriot across the street for bigger rooms and quite more expensive. Only a single elevator, which is kinda annoying sometimes.
Location, style (older building that still maintained some character) and reasonably priced. Another plus is the (free) reliable internet connection.
I had bokked a de duxe double and rejected the first room I was given. Even the second would have felt vey cramped as a double but it was OK as a single. Still, there was no desk/table in the room, which made working difficult. Not ideal for business trips.
Location, staff, price. Coffee and muffins in the lobby every morning. WiFi works well.
Street noise, noise in hallway
